Goblin Club (STEM)
Goblins are electric racing cars that are built from a kit and then raced at events all around the country. The Goblin cars and the racing series are supplied and organised by the Greenpower Education Trust, a local charity that promotes STEM careers to young people aged from nine to 25. Goblin cars are specifically designed for children in years five and six and are supplied as a kit that the children build, then create their own bodywork and finally compete in races. Since 2014, Stu and Ali Morgan have run a club on Saturday mornings for children in Hawthorn class to do exactly that. Usually, they start the club after the October half term and take part in four or five races from March through to July ending with the Gathering of the Goblins at Goodwood Motorcircuit where they race against dozens of other teams.
